Do you like to explore new materials, tools, techniques for craft projects? Do you like to learn and share in a group environment? Do you want to get into crafting, but have trouble coming up with ideas? Or are you a seasoned crafter who just wants to be around like-minded folks? If so, then our crafting special interest group is for you.
This SIG is for adults and teens. We will be learning a variety of arts and crafts projects with a Maker theme. We’ll see where it takes us based on your feedback! These classes and play-dates will be a fun and unique blend of high and low tech, that will introduce new experiences and technology in a fun and creative way.
The initial format (to get us started):
- Each public meeting (first Thursday of each month) we will present a general theme for the month and share some examples.
- The 2nd Saturday of each month 10am-noon at our makerspace we’ll hold a class.
- Then 3rd and 4th Saturdays 10-noon will be “play dates” with a suggested project idea with direction (sometimes building upon the class), or you can work on your own projects and simply enjoy the creative energy.
