“Bots High” is a funny and inspiring award winning documentary that follows three teams of high school robotics geeks who build and battle their way to a national robotics competition in Miami.

On Thursday, October 6 2011 the King Kekaulike Robotics team hosted a fundraising showing of the film on the school campus. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and will include the film as well as robotic demonstrations. Tickets are $5.00 and patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, pillows, etc. to make the viewing experience more enjoyable. Pending weather, the film will be shown on the ColorBox – an outdoor four sided display.

About the Film
http://www.botshigh.com/

Some kids play football in school. Other kids build bone-crushing combat robots with the expressed purpose of dismembering competing bots in thrilling caged-death matches. This film is about kids in the latter group.

High follows three teams of high school robotics geeks who build and battle their way to a national robotics competition in Miami. Our heroes include genius inventor Will, who constructs seemingly indestructible bots that unfortunately self-destruct (sometimes in a cloud of smoke and flames), and My Mechanical Romance, a team of Catholic school girls who stand out amid male bot participants with a combination of beauty, brains, and fashion sense.
